Working Together For Young People

How we operate

The Education and Employers Taskforce operates a model of partnership working and collective leadership. Our Trustees provide our governance structure and work closely through the Partnership Board and Expert Working Groups to have the best possible impact.

Many of our partners and colleagues provide considerable pro-bono support, which we gratefully acknowledge in the appropriate sections of our website.

Our Partnership Board

The Partnership Board comprises senior representatives of the leading organisations representing education, employment and intermediaries invited by the Trustees. Their role is essential to achieving our shared ambitions and by coordinating their activities they provide greater clarity for schools and colleges and minimise unnecessary duplication for employers. They:

  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to the Trustees
  • Receive reports from the Expert Working Groups bringing forward policy recommendations to the Trustees
  • Support the objectives of the charity by collaborating across the sector
  • Contribute knowledge, expertise and understanding of the current landscape using their experience of developing relationships between education and the community

 Our Expert Working Groups

Members of the Partnership Board are invited to nominate representatives to join Expert Working Groups. Working Groups also have the opportunity to co-opt members. The Expert Working Groups are constituted and managed by the Executive Team and:

  • Produce reports and recommendations for the Partnership Board and the Trustees
  • Provide support and challenge to the Executive Team around core deliverables by contributing the members' expert knowledge
  • Lead on particular projects related to their fields of expertise.

Our Trustees

The Trustees include leaders from the worlds of employment and education. They:

  • Are ambassadors for the charity, using their personal influence to help it fulfil its objectives and attend and speak at education and employer events and to the media
  • Are accountable and ensure the organisation complies with charity law
  • Oversee strategic direction working with the Partnership Board to ensure its maximum effectiveness
  • Appoint the Executive Team and oversee its performance including its effective working with the Partnership Board
  • Review the business plan and monitor its implementation
  • Are responsible for finances including fundraising.
