Pharmaceutical firm GlaxoSmithKline is the first major employer to announce that it will pay tuition fees for its new trainees.
The company said it would cover the fees of about 100 graduate recruits, with a support budget of £3m a year. This shows the increasing importance of young people having contact with employers before entering the workforce.
