Professions must be ‘more open’ to all backgrounds

Professions such as law, journalism and medicine must do more to widen their intake, the deputy prime minister’s social mobility adviser, Alan Milburn says. There needs to be a bigger drive to open careers to young people from poor backgrounds.
The ‘Fair access to professional careers progress report’ endorses the Taskforce’s employee volunteering in education programme Inspiring the Future.
