Christine Blower

Christine joined the Union as a student and has been President and Secretary of the NUT in Hammersmith and Fulham. She became a member of the Union's National Executive in 1992, was elected Senior Vice-President in 1995 and became President of the NUT in 1997.

Christine is a member of the Education International (Europe) Board.  She was elected Deputy General Secretary of the NUT in January 2005, became Acting General Secretary in April 2008 and was declared General Secretary in May 2009.
