Chief Executive, The Schools Network

Sue Williamson became Chief Executive of The Schools Network in November 2011.  She joined the Trust in April 2002 as a Director and has played a leading role in its development and expansion.  In 2002 there were 1000 affiliated secondary schools - there are now 4599 primary, special and secondary.  She was responsible for the annual National Conference described by the TES as "the most prestigious education event in the UK."  Sue has worked closely with Professor David Hargreaves in developing the personalising learning and system redesign agendas.

Sue has worked with headteachers to develop a suite of high quality leadership programmes that focus on innovation and leadership.   This led to the creation of the Leadership and Innovation Academy. She created and introduced the concept of iNet (international networking for educational transformation) - the Trust's international arm.

Prior to joining the Trust, Sue was Headteacher at Monks' Dyke Technology College for eight years.  Under her leadership the College's GCSE results went from 15% A-C to 56%.  She was also responsible for a number of major building projects including the New Media Centre, Art and Science building and a Rural Sciences building.
