Bob Wigley is Chairman of Yell Group plc and is an investor and
entrepreneur. He is an investor in several early stage technology
companies and is a partner of Advent International plc. From
2004-2009 he was Chairman of Merrill Lynch Europe, Middle East and
Africa. Between 2006 and 2009, Bob was a member of the Court of the
Bank of England, prior to which he was a Non Executive Director of
Royal Mail Group plc and Chairman of its Audit Committee for 3
years.
He is an Ambassador for the children's mobility charity,
Whizz-kidz and is Deputy Chairman of BITC. He also sat on the
Government's National Council for Education Excellence in which
capacity he authored a report for the Prime Minister on improving
school governance.
He sits on a number of panels supporting corporate social
responsibility, including Chairman of Oxford University's Said
Business School Centre for Corporate Reputation. In 2008, he
chaired a panel of leading London financial services company CEOs
for the incoming Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, producing a report
on maintaining London's competitiveness and now sits on the Mayor's
Panel of Economic Advisers.
