Richard Ellam

Richard is responsible for managing the Inspiring governance programme over a region stretching from Oxfordshire through to South Yorkshire. He joined the charity in January 2017 after a varied cross sector career.

Early in his career Richard established two live music touring venues, selling out shows from acts such as the Arctic Monkeys before answering a vocational call to teach in Further Education. From 2006-2014, while running the award-winning Herbert Media facility in Coventry, he initiated and developed innovative new creative education and community programmes as part of the Senior Management Team of the Culture Coventry Trust. He also set up and ran an alternative training provision re-engaging young people excluded, or at risk of exclusion, with education or training. Immediately prior to joining EET, Richard worked as a project management and business development consultant on a number of short term contracts for NCS, Travellers’ Times and the River and Rowing Museum.

Richard graduated from the University of Huddersfield with a Degree in Business Law and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
