Professor David Docherty has had a long career in media and technology companies as well as in higher education.
He was the BBC’s first Director of New Media as well as Deputy Director of Television. He was on the management board of FTSE 100 cable company.
From 2009 to 2019, he was the Chair of the Digital Television Group and spent ten years at the National Centre for Universities and Business, primary as CEO. He is a board member of the Digital Catapult.
He was Chair of the Board at the University of Bedfordshire and holds honorary degrees from four universities.
