Labour’s education spokesman Tristram Hunt blames ‘casual sexism’ of governors for gender gap among top teachers. Mr Hunt cited research from the Future Leaders Trust showing that the gap between the number of males and females appointed to secondary school headships was growing. The 2012 figures showed that 64% of heads were men and only 36% women.
