The first winner of the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering (QEPrize) will be announced in March 2013. The QEPrize celebrates an engineer responsible for a ground-breaking innovation in engineering of benefit to humanity and will provide an opportunity to raise the profile of engineering in the UK. We hope that the prize will inspire and engage the next generation of young people to take up careers in engineering.
Everyone working in science and engineering – from Apprentices to CEOs – will also be urged to visit their local state schools and colleges in March via employee volunteering programme Inspiring the Future.
