Dominic is Deputy Chief Executive of Education and Employers and also leads the team delivering our Inspiring Governance school governor recruitment programme. Funded by the DfE, Inspiring Governance strengthens governing bodies by working with employers to place skilled volunteers into schools and academies. He is also part of the charity’s senior leadership team.
Prior to joining the charity in March 2018, Dominic was a Director at the Youth Sport Trust leading their education policy and schools’ partnerships. Before this, Dominic spent many years working for the National College for Teaching and Leadership where he was Programme Director for the National Succession Planning programme for Headteachers and led the NCTL’s national field team. After graduating from Sheffield with a BA Hons in Geography and a PCGE from the University of Nottingham, Dominic started as a secondary school teacher before becoming a Diversity Training and Development Manager within the police. He has governed in a variety of academy trusts and schools for over 15 years and is currently a governor at a primary school in Nottingham.
